'Kahi gungunaycha aahe'…. Marathi Bhavsangeetachi Surel Vatchaal

A harmonium, tabla, and a singer… the evolution of Bhavgeet, non film songs in Marathi, had its origins from a simple premise, to communicate the most tender emotions in a musical form. A listener regaled in the beauty of a poet's imagination, through the mellifluous rendition by a singer.

Bhavana… the vast and varied term, exists in many layers in human relationships… and complexities of relationships get manifested into millions of words which strung together, pull the heartstrings of even the toughest, and a tear unknowingly springs in the eye.

Geet… the very core of India's tradition and culture, the seven notes of melody have compounded a treasury of music which, adorned by the lyrics, obtain a new dimension and become timeless expressions.

BHAVGEET… with a history that is glorious, a nature which is ethereal, and a reach.. deeply embedded into the hearts of
generations.

The programme will musically explore all these aspects, delve into the realms of timeless expressions, which may have been written and sung almost five decades ago, but are as fresh and meaningful today. Each lyricist created a verbal masterpiece, each composer gave that masterpiece its true colours and each singer put a stamp of excellence into the renditions, immortalizing them.

Gaurav, who is from Delhi, sings Bhavgeet in Marathi, with great aplomb, and the audience is amazed at his perfection, both intonations and pronunciations.

'Kahi gungunaycha aahe', studies the changing face of timeless expressions, admires the spirit of its creators and presents the choicest of emotions.
